The following is a message received last night from Jack Miller, Zach’s father.

Mike,

I watched the Zach Miller story tonite like I might do once in a while while thinking of Zach.  I saw all kinds of comments such as “it is not real, they are doing a movie”. Or “how is he”, etc.  I just wanted to say that he is stable, vital signs are good and other than a drop foot from the strokes, he looks like my son sleeping. He opens his eyes maybe 6 to 8 hrs a day but he still does not respond to commands like “squeeze my hand”.

I still call in 3 to 4 times a day to see how he is doing and will probably do so for the rest of my life or Zachs life.  I come to see him every other weekend.  I would take him closer to home but I want to keep him in Pittsburgh for many reasons.

We still have hope because physically he still looks good and I couldn’t go on without it.  He was my first born and only son and I will fight to get him better.

Please share this with the people who care.

Sincerely,

Zach’s Dad

I just wanted to thank Zach’s dad for sharing the update. I came across Zach’s story tonight even though I don’t know him. I do crossfit in DC and was really saddened to read about his accident. I wondered how he is today but had a hard time finding any information. To his dad, I am glad to know that you are able to spend time with him and that he is progressively getting better.

    Maria
